Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Project

Our JET Project offers young people, ages 15 to 18, opportunities to develop job-readiness skills related to the food service industry, explore a variety of careers and occupations and define the educational needs for preparing for a particular career. We also provide ongoing support after youth have entered the workforce or begun higher education pursuits.

  • Enhances job-related skills such as resumé writing, communications skills, completing employment applications, interview practice
  • Provides an opportunity to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate and explore higher education opportunities
  • Offers career exploration and job shadowing
  • Provides on-the-job learning

JET Food Project is funded through Community Development Block Grant monies and local foundations. It also supports daily food service for our Youth Center Services and our Chef’s Club program for younger youth.

Caregivers can register their child for our Neighborhood Youth Services by calling 218.623.6474, sending us an email, or filling out an application form here.
